Friendship Bracelets

Friendship bracelets originated in Central and South America, in countries such as Chile, Peru, Guatemala and Brazil, as a Native American handcraft and a lasting token of affection between friends and relatives.

The giver should tie the bracelet onto the wrist of his or her friend who should keep it on until it falls off on its own accord. Legend has it that the bracelets are lucky and the person receiving one can make a wish which comes true when the bracelet gets worn out and drops off. Traditionally, the giver would offer their effort and love through creating the bracelet and the wearer would honour the work by wearing it.

Every handmade item is given individual care while being made, knot by knot, so that each gift is a unique symbol of love and respect.
